Our book party to celebrate the launch of our first book, "Das Haus im Buch" during 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen was a tremendous success and an unforgettable experience. Amid the vibrant atmosphere of the renowned design festival, design enthusiasts, architecture fans, and book lovers gathered to celebrate the premiere of our work with us.

The event took place at the Apollo Bar, led by the renowned chef Frederik Bille Brahe. Frederik and his team provided us with delicious food, which was the culinary highlight of the evening. The carefully curated decorations and the relaxed atmosphere of the Apollo Bar perfectly complemented the festive mood.

The response was overwhelming – from inspiring conversations about design and architecture to engaging discussions about the themes and stories featured in "The House in the Book." Attendees had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating worlds we created in our book and to be captivated by the detailed illustrations and compelling texts.

About the Book

Nidus dashausimbuch cover

The book is inspired by the eponymous exhibition, in which Nidus and Oliver Jahn asked architects, designers, artists, cultural figures, and other prominent individuals from around the world to send the gallery the one book related to architecture that they keep returning to throughout their lives.

The result is a highly entertaining and informative homage to the architecture-related book, with many discoveries, surprising examples, and fascinating insights into the thoughts of the respondents. The volume includes a photo of each submitted book's personal copy and a personal accompanying text. Together with handwritten notes, "Das Haus im Buch" offers a captivating glimpse into the world of architectural literature.

"Among the various tools of man, the most astonishing is, without doubt, the book," said Jorge Luis Borges on May 24, 1978, in a lecture titled "The Book." He continued, "The others are extensions of his body. The microscope and the telescope are extensions of his sight; the telephone is an extension of his voice; then we have the plow and the sword, extensions of his arm. But the book is something else: it is an extension of memory and imagination. [...] I believe that the book is one of the possibilities of happiness that man has."

This quote, like "Das Haus im Buch," appreciates the book as an immortal medium and continuous source of inspiration for cultural creators.

Among the favorite books of prominent personalities featured are Amunt, Andreas Murkudis, Christian Haas, Fala Atelier, Jórunn Ragnarsdóttir, Marlene Taschen, Faye Toogood, Florian Illies, Pierre Yovanovitch, Roger Boltshauser, Vincent van Duysen, and many more.
