About the movie

At the time it opened, the Robin Hood Gardens housing complex in London's East End was the promise of a better life. Together with the architectural photographer Hélène Binet, the documentary filmmakers Thomas Beyer and Adrian Dorschner explore the building shortly before it was demolished in 2017 and explore its importance in the history of architecture. The movie addresses the contradictions and complexity of modern architecture and revolves around the question what we can learn from history for a better life in our cities of the future.
